ARTICA SHOPFITTING, a company dedicated to the design and manufacture of commercial furniture and custom-made furniture, has decided to implement and maintain the Chain of Custody requirements of the FSC@ FSC Cl 76374 and PEFC Organizations, in accordance with its Standards and Rules for the Use of the Brand, to promote the consumption of wood from well-managed forests in accordance with the FSC Principles and Criteria and to guarantee the sustainable use of this resource, in accordance with the PEFC Scheme and compliance with the regulations on the prevention of occupational risks and workers’ rights according to the ILO Declaration.
ARTICA also undertakes to establish and maintain a system of verification, control and traceability of its sources of supply of raw materials, to avoid being directly or indirectly involved in the following activities:
- Illegal logging or trade in illegal timber or forest products
- Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations
- Comply with workers’ rights and commit to not using child labor
- Destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations
- Conversion of forests into forest plantations or other uses
- Introduction of genetically modified organisms into forestry operations
- Violation of any of the ILO Fundamental Conventions
Furthermore, the organization undertakes to maintain and preserve the health and safety conditions of all its workers, as well as their ongoing training, and to appoint a representative in matters of occupational health and safety.
This commitment will be disseminated among ARTICA employees, suppliers and customers and will be forwarded to any other interested party upon request.
Furthermore, anyone who requires it will be informed about the origin and characteristics of the forest raw materials consumed by ARTICA, as well as establishing a Due Diligence System to control wood and its derivatives, and about the complaints and claims procedure in relation to our Organization’s wood supplies and the operation of the Chain of Custody.
